MIGHTY-EASY is a solution designed to easily and affordably install all types of wood, even 3/4" Solid, over suitable concrete sub-floors. This solution uses:
- MIGHTY-EASY Membrane
- MIGHTY-EASY Vapor-Block and waterproof tape
- Tite-Bondâ Original Wood Glue
How to install the MIGHTY-EASY way.
Before you start, you need to get a few tools. The low weight of the membrane and minimal tool requirement will make stocking the project MIGHTY-EASY. The more experience Installers will appreciate this.
For MIGHTY-EASY, the only tool you will need is a utility/razor knife.

- Remove high spots and fill low spots on the sub-floor according to the wood flooring manufacturer’s specifications.
- Lay out the VAPOR-BLOCK, cut with the razor to the size of the room - add 3" for each wall. Make sure any seams are overlapped a minimum of 12" and taped with waterproof tape before the walls are trimmed. .

Roll out the MIGHTY-EASY Membrane perpendicular to the specified flooring direction. Cut flush to the walls. Simply butt the end joints when needed. Use a few boards on each drop to weigh the membrane down to keep it in place. Do not tape the MIGHTY-EASY side seams!
- Pull the MIGHTY-EASY up the starter wall 2.5 board widths. Pull the membrane film from the face of the MIGHTY-EASY until it is flush with the floor, let it drop back on the face creating a section two layers of plastic film thick.
- Use a razor knife to cut the exposed membrane level to the floor. DO NOT CUT THE VAPOR-BLOCK OR MEMBRANE FILM. Take the cut piece and place it, sticky side up, in the void at the end of the drop created where you pulled the drop up the wall. Cover this piece as soon as you get enough film from installation.
You are ready to install your wood flooring! The tools you will need for the wood:
- Tape measure/pencil
- Straight edge or chalk line
- Circular saw (Chop saw and Table saw are ideal!)
- Square
- Tite-Bondâ Original Wood Glue
- Rags and trash bags
All wood flooring requires a "Starter Row" of some sort. This is a critical part of the installation, if this row is not straight the entire floor will be gapped. The use of the MIGHTY-EASY Quick Start Clamps is strongly recommended to assist in keeping your starter row aligned when using the MIGHTY-EASY Solution.
- Lay out 2 rows of boards along the starter wall creating the "STARTER ROW". Cut the boards to fit, allowing manufacturer’s expansion gaps (approximately 1 board width) at all walls and stationary objects. Pull the boards away from the wall, keeping them in order.
- Start at one of the ends. Make sure plastic film is doubled over and flat. Assemble a section of the "STARTER ROW" 9' - 18' long (3 board lengths) applying a drop of Tite-Bondâ in the end groove of each board. Make sure the edge of the membrane film is beyond the "STARTER ROW". Align the boards and use a straight edge to check. Use our optional MIGHTY-EASY Quick Start Clamps to make this process MIGHTY-EASY!
- Grab the edge of the film and gently pull it out, keeping the "STARTER ROW" in place and all boards aligned.
- Stop pulling when the plastic is almost out from under the "STARTER ROW"

- Once you are sure the boards are aligned, use your hand to push the flooring onto the MIGHTY-EASY membrane (light pressure allows the boards to be removed and re-positioned if necessary. Heavy pressure locks the flooring onto the MIGHTY-EASY). Walk on this section to firmly secure the boards.
- Remove the Quick Start Clamps and repeat the above instructions for the next section. Repeat until the "STARTER ROW" is complete. You won't need the Quick Start Clamps any more.
- Additional rows are easy. Start the next row maintaining a stagger in the layout. Simply lay out your wood flooring and push it tight against the starter row and at the end-joint, then pull out the membrane film. Repeat until done.
- When you come to a fill piece or roll end, you will get a “Butt” joint seam. Simply cut a piece of scrap plastic film a minimum of 10 board widths long. At the drop after the seam pull the film back 2 ½ board widths. Remove any film of the fill piece. Start at the edge farthest from the starter wall and use the cut scrap piece of plastic to cover the exposed sticky membrane. Make sure to put the silicone treated side against the sticky surface. If correctly applied it will peel off easily. Bring the film back in the opposite direction, doubling back over the plastic. Extend the film at least 2 ½ boards widths past the far seam. Install your wood like before.
DO NOT USE WOOD STRAPS TO PULL WARPED BOARDS TOGETHER. SET THESE PIECES ASIDE OR CUT OUT THE WARPED SECTION AND USE THE BALANCE.
